Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is a twelve which makes getting from the aiport to CLEO in five minutes a smooth ride. Not to mention less expensive. 

Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO)
Just outside of Charlotte, Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) provides an additonal location to attend CLEO.

TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM AIRPORTS  

Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT)​ is approximately 7 miles from the Charlotte Convention Center, a 10 to 15 minute drive.

 Shuttles Services : CATS’ Sprinter service (Route 5 Airport) provides a convenient way to travel from Uptown Charlotte to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport.  In addition to the on demand service available at each terminal, shuttles are available on a prearranged basis. Taxis: Taxi service is available curbside on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level. An attendant is on duty to assist passengers from 6:45 a.m. – 12:15 a.m.

Although passengers may prearrange to use any taxi service provider, there are four taxi companies available through the Airport’s taxi queue: City Cab, Crown Cab, Green Cab and Yellow Cab. These companies are evaluated annually to ensure all taxis have a GPS system, credit card technology and adhere to guidelines set forth by CLT. More Information.


Estimated Taxi Rate: All trips from CLT are a minimum of $14, which includes the first 3-miles of travel. Beyond 3 miles, the fares are charged by meter at $0.50 per each 1/5th  per mile. From Charlotte Douglas International Airport to Charlotte Convention Center cabfare is approximately $22.00 USD, but subject to increase depending traffic.  
                         
Rental Cars: Rental car companies are located in the Rental Car Facility in the Level 2 lobby of the Hourly Deck in front of the terminal. All questions regarding rates, reservations and availability should be directed to the individual companies listed below.

Picking Up a Rental Car: Rental Car Facility - Exit the terminal on the lower level (Arrivals/Baggage Claim) and proceed directly across the car and shuttle/bus lanes via crosswalk and covered walkway into the Level 2 lobby. Once inside the lobby, proceed to the counter of the rental company from which you are picking up a car where a representative will assist you.

Other Airports:

Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) is approximately 100 miles from Charlotte Convention Center, about 1.5 hours away. Estimated taxi fare from Piedmont Triad International Airport to Charlotte Convention Center is approximately $270 USD but subject to increase depending on traffic and other reasons.

 OTHER GROUND TRANSPORTATION 

Light Rail:

The LYNX Blue Line light rail has been a game-changer for Charlotteans since its operations began in 2007 with 15 stations linking the south side of Intersate 485 to Uptown. In 2018, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) added an extension, connecting Uptown to UNC Charlotte and bringing the total south-north route to 18.9 miles with 26 stations, including 11 park-and-ride locations. With one-way fair costing $2.20, it is as easy as hopping on. 



Alternate Private Transportation:

Bike-Sharing

Hundreds of bike-sharing options are scattered throughout the city. Charlotte Joy Rides has more than 20 bike docks, where you can swipe your credit card to rent a bike in 30-minute increments. And dockless bike-sharing companies like LimeBike, Mobike and Spin offer riders the option to pick up and leave their colorful two-wheelers in whatever legal spot they like.

Reserve wheels when you want them, by the hour or day, and only pay for the time you drive.

Convention Center
$1 per 20 min, $25 daily maximum, Monday - Sunday. Special event pricing may vary.

South Hall
$7 daily flat fee; no overnight parking.

Bicycles: Covered bicycle racks are located just inside the convention center parking garage (Almaden Boulevard entrance).
