TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORTS  

Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) is approximately 5 miles from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center which is about 10-15 minutes.
 
Door to Door Shuttles:  Shuttles are stationed at the Airport for on-demand service. They are accessible from Terminal A and Terminal B. In addition to the on demand service available at each terminal, shuttles are available on a prearranged basis. Please contact the company of your choice to schedule reservations.

Estimated Taxi Rate: All trips from SJC are a minimum of $15, which includes the first 3-miles of travel and a $1.50 airport fee. Beyond 3-miles, the fares are charged by meter at $3.00 per mile. Passengers with disabilities or over 65 years of age receive a 15% discount off the total fare.

Rental Cars: To get to the rental car companies, you must take a shuttle. Terminal B passengers can walk directly across Airport Drive at the crosswalks from baggage claim to reach the Rental Car Center. Passengers arriving at Terminal A may take any Airport blue shuttle bus to the Rental Car Center. Rental customers departing from Terminal A can take the marked Inter-terminal Shuttle (blue bus) from the Rental Car Center to Terminal A.

Airplane iconSan Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 40 miles from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center which is about 45 minutes.
 
The easiest way to get from San Francisco to San Jose is the Caltrain Commuter Rail.  Caltrain provides rail service between San Francisco and San Jose, with weekday commute-hour service to Gilroy. BART connects SFO to the Caltrain rail system at the Millbrae Station. Weekday express trains serve select stations during commute hours.

Arriving and Departing from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Don't Want to Take the Train? Take the Monterey Shuttle!

The Monterey Shuttle is the easiest and most cost effective transportation to/from SFO (San Francisco International Airport)  and SJC (Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport).
 
The fare is USD $20 per person one way. The Monterey Shuttle picks up from SFO (outside the doors of baggage claim on the center island where the blue sign that reads "airporters") and drops off at SJC (at either terminal) with no stops in between. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes. From SJC, you have the option of taking a taxi to your hotel or CLICK HERE to see the bus and/or light rail options. (Use the "trip planner" tool to enter your hotel address)
 
When heading back from SJC to SFO, you must go to Terminal B to be picked up by the Monterey Shuttle.

Local Public Transportation:
VTA  Light Rail and Bus
Light Rail gets you quickly and inexpensively through the city, including the Alum Rock, Almaden and Santa    Teresa areas of San Jose, plus neighboring Mountain View and Campbell. The extensive bus routes are easy to navigate throughout all of Silicon Valley.

Take advantage of the free shuttle which hits key areas of Downtown.
Shuttles run Monday to Friday, from approximately 6:30am to 9:15pm.

Easy access to San Jose (including AT&T Park, home of the SF Giants) as well as access to shopping at the Gilroy Outlets is as easy as hopping on a train. Trains run daily with fares starting at $3 and increase based on zones travelled in and over what period of time.
 
Amtrak California and National Train Service
Amtrak offers a convenient, scenic and cost-effective mode of transportation. Modernized and refurbished rail cars, new and improved services and newly enhanced amenities add to the fun. Taking Amtrak is also a "green" way to go, because traveling by rail contributes less per passenger mile to greenhouse gas emissions than cars and airplanes.
