Based on the principle of evanescent coupling, the splitters provide splitting ratios tunable from 0% to 100% with negligible optical loss. The coupling ratio is controlled by adjusting the distance between the cores of the two side-polished fibers. Polarization maintaining fiber models with customer specified birefringence axis alignment are available.

OZ Optics Limited, a world leading supplier of fiber optic products for existing and next-generation optical networks, introduces a High-Speed Bench-top Polarization Controller-Scrambler, featuring the controller and driver in one unit, with fixed or random state generation, and user selectable frequencies up to 2 kHz. The device is intended for applications such as polarization scrambling, PDL measurements, quality control, polarization studies, and controlling the polarization state.
