TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM AIRPORTS  

Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) is approximately 5 miles from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, a 10 to 15 minute drive.
 

Door to Door Shuttles: Shuttles are stationed at the Airport for on-demand service. They are accessible from Terminal A, Stop 2 and Terminal B, Stop 2. In addition to the on demand service available at each terminal, shuttles are available on a prearranged basis. Please contact the company of your choice to schedule reservations. Pre-arranged vehicles pick-up at Terminal A, Stop 3 and Terminal B, Stop 11. More Information.

 

Taxis: Taxis are stationed at the Airport for on-demand service. They are accessible from Terminal A, Stop 2 and Terminal B, Stop 1. Estimated Taxi Rate: All trips from SJC are a minimum of $15, which includes the first 3-miles of travel and a $1.50 airport fee. Beyond 3-miles, the fares are charged by meter at $3.00 per mile. Passengers with disabilities or over 65 years of age receive a 15% discount off the total fare. View Accessible Services for additional information.

 

From Mineta San Jose International Airport to San Jose McEnery Convention Center cabfare is approximately $20.00USD, but subject to increase depending traffic or other reasons.  
                         
Rental Cars: The Rental Car Center is located directly across from Terminal B. Terminal B passengers can walk across Airport Drive at the crosswalks from baggage claim to reach the Rental Car Center. Terminal A passengers may take any Airport blue shuttle bus to or from the Rental Car Center.

Airplane iconSan Francisco International Airport (SFO) is approximately 40 miles from the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, about 45 minutes away.
 
The easiest way to get from San Francisco to San Jose is the Caltrain Commuter Rail. Caltrain provides rail service between San Francisco and San Jose, with weekday commute-hour service to Gilroy. BART connects SFO to the Caltrain rail system at the Millbrae Station. Weekday express trains serve select stations during commute hours.

 


Arriving and Departing from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Don't Want to Take the Train? Take the Monterey Shuttle!

The Monterey Shuttle is the easiest and most cost effective transportation to/from SFO (San Francisco International Airport) and SJC (Norman Mineta San Jose International Airport).
 
The fare is USD $20 per person one way with discount provided if you book online. The Monterey Shuttle picks up from SFO and drops off at SJC with no stops in between. For airport pick up locations, call 831.373.7777 and follow instructions. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes.

Local Public Transportation:
VTA  Light Rail and Bus
Light Rail gets you quickly and inexpensively through the city, including the Alum Rock, Almaden and Santa Teresa areas of San Jose, plus neighboring Mountain View and Campbell. The extensive bus routes are easy to navigate throughout all of Silicon Valley.

Take advantage of the free shuttle which hits key areas of Downtown.
Shuttles run Monday to Friday, from approximately 6:30am to 9:15pm.

Train:
Caltrain
Easy access to San Jose (including AT&T Park, home of the SF Giants) as well as access to shopping at the Gilroy Outlets is as easy as hopping on a train. Trains run daily with fares starting at $3.20 and increase based on zones travelled in and over what period of time.


Amtrak California and National Train Service
Amtrak offers a convenient, scenic and cost-effective mode of transportation. Modernized and refurbished rail cars, new and improved services and newly enhanced amenities add to the fun. Taking Amtrak is also a "green" way to go, because traveling by rail contributes less per passenger mile to greenhouse gas emissions than cars and airplanes.
