Why is Beam Profiling Difficult Compared to Other Laser Measurement and What Can you Do About It? Tips and Techniques
Tuesday, 17 May, 10:30 - 10:45

Beam Profiling presents a number of challenges due to the nature of the sensors typically used to profile the beam. In this presentation, learn about innovations in beam conditiong techniques that generate reliable profile data without introducing artifacts into the results.

Presented By: Derrick Peterman, Ph.D., Sales Director

What is Laser Trapping and Excitation and Why is it Crucial for Quantum Computing? Developments in Laser Technology and Techniques
Tuesday, 17 May, 10:45 - 11:00

Laser trapping and excitation of neutral atoms is a promising technique for quantum computing. This technique demands both high power and narrow linewidth laser sources for precision manipulation of atoms as qubits. In this presentation, discover innovations in laser technology that enable access to key atomic transitions needed for cutting edge quantum techniques.

Presented By: James Norby, Senior Sales Territory Manager

Miro Altitude - The State-of-the-Art in Laser Beam Measurement
Tuesday, 17 May, 11:15 - 11:45

To ensure consistent, repeatable results, it is important to track your laser system's health at various checkpoints. How do you measure a laser beam? We will show you how to measure your laser's power or energy accurately, using the new MIRO ALTITUDE, Gentec-EO's flagship laser power and energy meter.

Presented By: Paige Stevens, Sales Engineer

Photon Counting Technologies for Low Light Applications
Tuesday, 17 May, 12:00 - 12:30

Photodetectors capable of detecting a single photon are increasingly demanded by "modern" applications such as quantum computers, time-of-flight LiDAR, dark matter detection, and more. This talk is a mid-level discussion of single-photon detectors: PMT, SPAD, SiPM, SNSPD, TES, and photon resolving camera. The presentation ends by showcasing Hamamatsu products capable of single-photon counting and imaging.

Presented By: Slawomir Piatek, Scientific Consultant

Laser and Optomechanics Developments From Thorlabs
Wednesday, 18 May, 10:30 - 11:00

Thorlabs' new technologies include a nonlinear pulse compression approach that achieves >5X compression factors and sub-40 fs, 470 nJ pulses at 9.5MHz, using the fundamental mode of a standard multim ode fiber; an ultra-low-noise 1550 nm laser for fiber sensing and optical clocks; and a patent-pending 5-axis Polaris lens mount.
