• Technical Conference:  05 – 10 May 2024
  • The CLEO Hub: 07 – 09 May 2024

CLEO (Conference on Laser and Electro-Optics) is the premier international forum for scientific and technical optics. Uniting the fields of lasers and opto-electronics by bringing together all aspects of laser technology, from basic research to industry applications, CLEO:2016 presents the full range of topics from early stage research to leading-edge applications. Building on the long established CLEO/QELS conference and its world-renowned peer- reviewed program, the conference offers high quality content in five core event elements featuring breakthrough research and applied innovations in ultrafast lasers, energy-efficient optics, quantum electronics, biophotonics and more.

CLEO: 2016 programming & event elements include:

CLEO: QELS – Fundamental Science: The premier venue for the newest research results in physics-related areas of optics, modern spectroscopy, atomic and molecular manipulation and control, quantum optics, optical materials, interactions of electromagnetic radiation with matter, ultrafast phenomena, and much more.

CLEO: Science & Innovations: The “classic” program covering applied research and innovations in lasers, optical materials, and photonic devices. Topics include laser processing of materials, terahertz technologies, high-field and ultrafast optics, optical communications, biophotonics, optical sensing and metrology, micro- and nano-photonics and non-linear optics.

CLEO: Applications & Technology: Explores the intersection of academic research with product commercialization. Sessions may provide proof-of-concept prototypes, field trials and test data, and manufacturing advances in areas such as metrology, “green” technologies (LEDs and solar cells), biomedical applications, industrial instrumentation, and other end-user markets.

CLEO: Market Focus: Centers on commercial developments in the optics, photonics, and laser industry.

CLEO: EXPO: Exhibition of new products and demonstrations of cutting-edge innovations from companies around the world.

About the Sponsors

The American Physical Society (APS) is a non-profit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy, and international activities. APS represents over 51,000 members, including physicists in academia, national laboratories, and industry in the United States and throughout the world.
The IEEE Photonics Society is a leading professional network of 7,000+ members that provides access to technical information on all aspects of opto-electronic and photonic materials, devices, and systems, from R&D to design, manufacturing and applications. The Society’s fields of interest are photonics, lasers, optical devices, optical fibers and associated lightwave technologies, plus their applications in both systems and subsystems in which quantum electronic devices are key elements.
Founded in 1916, The Optical Society (OSA) is the leading professional organization for scientists, engineers, students and entrepreneurs who fuel discoveries, shape real-life applications and accelerate achievements in the science of light. Through world-renowned publications, meetings and membership initiatives, OSA provides quality research, inspired interactions and dedicated resources for its extensive global network of optics and photonics experts.
