Diamond USA, Inc. Announces Diamond Micro Interface for PCB Optical Interconnect Requirements

Diamond Micro Interface (DMI) product developed to address Printed Circuit Board (PCB) optical interconnect requirements, where high performance single mode, multimode, power solution or polarization maintaining fiber optics are required. The DMI also provides an ideal choice for high quality active or passive device links.

Diamond, an innovative industry leader, created this fiber-to-the board interface with a focus on high density and low signal loss. The combination of eliminating splices and/or extraneous fiber management hardware while utilizing Diamond’s Active Core Alignment termination process and high precision mating sleeves attains these ambitious goals. Diamond is able to achieve a consistent low loss PC or APC product, based on 2.5mm ferrule design. The DMI has a footprint of only 4.5mm x 21mm. The PCB clip-on fixture also enables easy installation.
